Four-dimensional card of St. Anthony
8 x 11” (folded). This was a custom card for a top donor to the Xi chapter of St. Anthony Hall, a not-for-profit alumni organization of an arts society. It is crafted with care for the values and visual themes of St. Anthony Hall.
The cover features my hand-painted icon of St. Anthony, bound with hand-stitching to a piece of grass-cloth wallpaper printed by a colleague at Spoonflower. The inside includes a functional pocket in which a hand-written letter is placed, creating the fourth “dimension.” The “scale” texture is created from 35 hand-cut circles of hand-marbled paper (scraps from Dodin Marbling Studio), and the under-pocket design is hand-painted with gold enamel and stitched with perl cotton. This was all presented in a hand-made envelope, complete with string closure and key pendant.
